Kohnami: A Taste of South Padre Island's Finest Sushi and Casual Dining

The staff makes you feel at home. The food is infused with love and care. I enjoyed every moment of my meal. This will be another go to when I visit South Padre Island. It was refreshing to have sushi that was authentic. I am so honored to experience Kohnami. If you want authentic Japanese cuisine, this will be the place to go. Thank you for a wonderful culinary experience, I do appreciate all of you.

Super friendly staff we were there on Christmas Eve of all times and they were open. It was a hard decision on what to order because everything sounded so good. We had decided on a baked lobster roll, a lobster roll and an ocean roll. They were all very good and average pricing.

Been wanting to come here for a while every time I’m at the island! Finally came and glad I did! Sooo delicious!! The best hibachi I’ve had! Going to come more often when I’m visiting south padre island. Staff and cooks are friendly and kind. Treated my boys so sweet! place is very clean and great ambiance. Also cook did a great show.

First time here. Didn’t know they had habachi. Will try that next time. Sushi was decent. I like it when my fish is cold. Was a little warm for me. Don’t know if it was sitting there for a while or what while the others were being made since they all plated it together which was nice. We had orange chicken and general tso, and wow. Those were sooooo good!!

I was not expecting to find a great sushi joint while in South Padre island, but here we are. The service was awesome, and our server was so nice, and she was helpful with explaining things on the menu. My son loved the octopus, which I think she was pleasantly surprised. Overall, it was a great experience.

Kohnami is definitely one the best places that I've ever had sushi from, but it's not just the sushi that's great here, the orange chicken is good as well, and the teriyaki beef was even better, maybe the best I've had. The service was excellent as we were constantly checked up on for refills or anything else. The atmosphere is great as it's not too cluttered or empty, it's a nice vibe to eat with. Overall this place was a great experience and would definitely come again if we weren't just here for vacation.

Nothing less than 5 stars if I could give 10 I would. Such good hibachi and food. Service was excellent the experience was what I expected and more. The steak, shrimp, scallops, and rice was cooked to perfection. The sauce, vegetables, and hospitality was awesome. Always gonna remember my cook experience!

Food was delicious. The complementary Miso was really good. My husband really enjoyed the combination fried rice. I got the beef teriyaki bento box. The tempura veggies, salad with a great ginger wine vinagrette , crab sushi and steamed rice. The beef was a little fatty for my taste. Lunch specials are greatly priced.
